Peace and stability plays a key role in facilitating prosperity and development in any region of the globe. To safeguard and consolidate the momentum of Asian development, it is imperative to build an atmosphere of mutual trust and consensus giving way to greater cooperation and integration.
Increasing tension over territorial issues, virtual arms race, nuclear and non-nuclear proliferation, cross-border terrorism, ethnicity and sectarianism have consistently threatened peace and stability in the region, flaring up dangerous escalation from time to time.
The Asia Council Forum for Asian Unity plays a proactive role in resolving disputes, strengthening strategic ties and promoting peace & stability in Asia. The forum is a strong voice for increasing visa relaxation and cross-border mobility, greater connectivity, sustained interaction, regional integration and Asian solidarity.
