The Governing Council, Executive Council, Central Management Team, Regional Directorates and Country offices are the five nerve centres in the governance structure of Asia Council
“The Governing Council draws general guidelines and agenda for the functioning of Asia Council. The Executive Council is responsible for overall management of Asia Council and works toward fullfilling the mission entrusted to it by the Governing Council. All key appointments and financial allocations are done by the Executive Council.”
The Regional Directors are responsible for the functioning of the three regional directorates at Tokyo, Bangkok & Doha and the Country Offices under their jurisdiction.
The Governing Council is the highest decision making body of Asia Council and is responsible for the overall direction and supervision. It consists of both executive and non-executive members. The Governing Council draws general guidelines and agenda for functioning of Asia Council. It approves the annual plan and other resolutions & documents presented to it by the Executive Council.
The Executive Council is responsible for overall management of Asia Council and works toward fulfilling the mission entrusted to it by the Governing Council. The Executive Council consists of only Executive Members headed by the Executive Chair. All key appointments and financial allocations are done by the Executive Council.
The Central Management Team led by the Executive Director consists of the Deputy Executive Director, Director Administration, Finance Director, Human Resources Director and seven other Directors heading the individual divisions of Asia Council.
The Regional Directors are responsible for the functioning of the three regional directorates at Tokyo, Bangkok & Doha and the Country Offices under their jurisdiction. The Country Directors are responsible for the functioning of their respective Country Offices.
